Galaxy Convention Partners with Heads Over Heels
Around 150 students from across Australia gathered at the University of Sydney from the 4th-5th of December, to participate in the CAASTRO Galaxy Convention (#GalCon) a 2-day event focused on female innovation and entrepreneurship in the STEM space.
Heads Over Heels was a proud partner of the conference, with 3 of our Portfolio CEO presenting as well as our Board members, Felicity Waterford and Fiona Boyd.
Deb Noller CEO of smart building platform, Switch Automation shared about her entrepreneurial journey and how successful women she has in her network have global ambitions and don’t limit themselves. Deb encouraged the students to think about what careers they will have and proudly declared that there has never been a better time to be a girl who loves STEM.
Portfolio CEO Dharmica Mistry from BCal Diagnostics shared her entrepreneurial journey and how she is working on developing a blood test screening for detecting breast cancer.
Danielle Fletcher CEO of Kimberlin Education shared her expertise in marketing and how it can be used to grow and scale a business.
Heads Over Heels CEO Fiona Boyd provided an overview of commercialisation opportunities for startups and how to take your idea and nurture it into a thriving business as well as the funding opportunities available.
And finally, Felicity Waterford, Founder of the Leadership Kitchen and Board member of Heads Over Heels provided her tips on presenting the perfect pitch and practical tips for voice projection and exuding confidence such as using the power pose!
